Pre-service Virtual Consultation

Free

Meet with one of our Lead Caregivers to discuss your dog(s) and service needs. In this online meeting, we will discuss in detail your dog’s behavior challenges, what has worked for you and what hasn’t, the services you are looking for, and how we may be able to accommodate those needs.

Please note that we do not use aversive equipment or methods while providing care. Your use of certain aversive equipment or methods at home may result in our inability to render services.

Step Two

Time to Pet Client Portal

Free

In order to move forward with establishing care, you will be sent an invitation to sign up for Time to Pet, the application we use for all communication, scheduling and billing. Once your account is active, you have signed all agreements and have added a method of payment, we will reach out through the client portal to begin scheduling Getting to Know You Visits.

Getting to Know You Visits

GTKY Visits are a series of 30-minute visits that take place before any other service. Visits are designed to build a trusting relationship between your dog and their caregivers. The process includes preparation to determine the visit format, ongoing review of progress and check-ins to resolve problems. The number of GTKY visits can range from three to twelve or more.

*Prices start at $60 for your initial caregiver. Prices may vary for adding caregivers to your dog(s) care team.

A 30-minute visit designed to reacclimate your dog with their caregiver(s) when there has been an extended period of time between services.

I Can Sleep Alone Sitting

30-Minute $48 each DI
60-Minute $78 each DI

Customizable series of 30-minute and/or 60-minute drop-in visits
for dogs that are able to
sleep alone overnight.
Sittings typically include
three to four drop-ins per day.

12-Hour Overnight Sitting

$220 per night

2 hours of care in the late evening, 8 hours of overnight care and 2 hours of care in the early morning.

Standard Sitting or Boarding

Sitting: $495 per day

6 hours of regular care and 8 hours of overnight care for dogs that can be left alone for up to 6 hours at a time during the day. Dogs will be left alone for no more than 10 hours total per 24 hour period.

Boarding: $248 per day

LIMITED AVAILABILITY

24-Hour Sitting: Separation Anxiety

$495 per day

Full 24 hours of supervised care for dogs that cannot be left alone due to severe separation anxiety.

Rates effective as of January 2027 and are subject to change. Rates vary based on service area. Contact us at info@challengingdogs.com for the most up-to-date information.

  • 10% Zone Fee: will be applied to all invoices for services conducted in Washington DC, Northern Virginia and the Maryland Suburbs of Washington DC (all PG and Montgomery County Zip Codes)

  • Base rates include up to two dogs. A fee of $10/day will be added per additional dog.

  • Cat care (living in the home of the dogs we care for): $7.50/day for the first cat, $3.75 per day for each additional cat.

  • Mileage fee of $0.79/mile for travel 11 miles or more (ONE WAY) outside of your caregivers home address.

  • Clients must cover any parking fees incurred by sitting staff while providing services.

  • 15% Surcharge on Holidays- contact us for specific dates.

  • We strongly encourage you to have at least a two-person care team to ensure adequate availability.

  • 25% NON-REFUNDABLE deposits are due at the time of booking for all sitting services.

  • 50% Cancellation fee applies to cancellations of non-sitting services with less than 48 hours notice.
